
Newcomer Recruitment and Settlement Coordinator
Job Description
• Liaise with the International Recruitment Manager to coordinate recruitment and arrival timelines.
• Assist with recruitment activities including posting jobs, managing requisitions, screening candidates and participating in interviews.
• Coordinate candidate communication throughout the recruitment and onboarding process.
• Arrange and secure appropriate lodging for newcomer arrivals.
• Organize and manage transportation for newcomers, ensuring a smooth journey.
• Schedule and oversee onboarding activities, including orientations and driver training.
• Handle settlement tasks like SIN and Medicare applications.
• Support onboarding documentation and ensure employee files are complete and accurate.
• Engage with local multicultural groups to improve newcomer integration.
• Conduct regular check-ins with newcomers post-arrival, providing support.
• Ensure consistent best practices for recruitment, onboarding and settlement across sites and regions.
• Focus on retaining newcomers and their families, fostering a welcoming environment.
• Assist with recruitment reporting, scheduling and related administrative tasks.
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when handling candidate and employee information.
• Excellent time management and prioritization skills are essential.
• Strong organizational abilities with a keen eye for detail.
• Superior communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
• Experience or a demonstrated interest in recruitment, new Canadian recruitment, immigration or settlement services is an asset.
• Experience supporting recruitment activities such as interviews, job postings or requisition management is considered an asset.
• A proactive and solution-oriented mindset is preferred.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
• Excellent cultural sensitivity and a commitment to diversity and inclusion.
• Proficiency in relevant software and tools for coordination, scheduling and recruitment administration.
• A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle for occasional travel.
