
Finance Manager
Job Description
We're looking for a detail-oriented and analytical **Finance Manager** to join our organization in London, UK. This is a hands-on role perfect for someone who thrives in building robust financial systems, collaborating closely with leadership, and driving financial excellence in a dynamic, project-driven environment. You'll take ownership of our financial operations while laying the groundwork for a scalable finance function that supports our organization's growth and strategic objectives.
- Manage comprehensive end-to-end financial operations, including invoicing, payments, expense management, and collections, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Own project financial management responsibilities, including budgeting, cost tracking, and variance analysis to support informed decision-making
- Prepare detailed monthly financial reports, cash flow summaries, and financial statements that provide transparent insights into organizational performance
- Support strategic budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning initiatives to align resources with business goals
- Coordinate effectively with external stakeholders including accountants, auditors, banks, and consultants to ensure seamless financial operations
- Ensure full financial compliance with applicable regulations and maintain proper documentation and audit trails
- Analyze contract financial terms and manage milestone-based payments to optimize cash flow and project profitability
- Build, document, and continuously improve internal finance processes and controls to enhance efficiency and reduce risk
- Contribute to the strategic development and scaling of the finance department as the organization grows
- Provide analytical insights and financial recommendations to support leadership in strategic planning and decision-making
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
- Minimum 4+ years of professional experience in finance, accounting, or financial management
- Demonstrated expertise in project-based financial management with proven ability to track and control project costs
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools
- Strong knowledge of accounting software and ERP systems
- Solid understanding of financial compliance requirements and regulatory standards
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data
- Exceptional organizational and time management abilities with meticulous attention to detail
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across departments and with external partners
- Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
- Proven ability to work effectively in fast-paced, early-stage environments and adapt to changing priorities
- Demonstrated resilience and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Familiarity with government or semi-government project environments (preferred)
- Willingness to grow into a broader finance leadership role as the organization scales
