
Senior Project Manager, Facilities
Job Description
Irving Shipbuilding is delivering a complex, large-scale infrastructure program to support the build of River Class Destroyers. The Infrastructure Team is accountable for executing this program safely, on schedule, within budget, and without disruption to production.
The Senior Project Manager, Facilities Infrastructure will lead a defined portfolio of projects within this program. This role is responsible for planning, design, construction, integration, and overall delivery of industrial infrastructure projects critical to production readiness.
Project Delivery
- Lead end-to-end delivery of facilities infrastructure projects - from concept design through construction and handover
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget
- Translate production and build strategies into infrastructure requirements
- Apply project management best practices across all phases
- Identify and mitigate risks related to cost, schedule, operations, and technical execution
- Ensure compliance with corporate standards and applicable construction regulations
- Deliver infrastructure solutions aligned with production requirements while minimizing operational disruption
Stakeholder Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships across internal teams, contractors, and consultants
- Lead project meetings and ensure alignment across all stakeholders
- Facilitate collaboration to enable efficient planning and execution
Technical Leadership
- Act as the subject matter expert for assigned projects
- Provide timely, informed decision support to contractors, consultants, and internal teams
- Ensure quality and technical integrity throughout design and construction
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Architecture + 8 years’ experience, or Engineering Technology diploma + 10 years’ experience, or Equivalent combination of education and 15+ years’ relevant experience
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng) and PMP designation
- Strong project management capability (scheduling, cost control, forecasting, risk management) with a proven track record
- Experience managing complex infrastructure projects in industrial environments (asset), including proficiency in critical path scheduling, cost forecasting (EAC), and performance analysis
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing, facility systems, and equipment installation
Due to the nature of work Irving Shipbuilding does, all successful applicants must meet requirements for the Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
