WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING: 
The Diagnostic Imaging team at STEGH includes General Radiography (XRay), Computer Tomography (CT), Nuclear Medicine (NM), Bone Mineral Density (BMD), Mammograph, Ontario Breast Screening Program, Ultrasound, Gastric Barium Studies, and Specialized Procedures (Biopsies, Drainages, etc). All imaging procedures are performed by Medical Radiation Technologists (MRT) and interpreted by Radiologist using state-of-the-art technology allowing us to provide the best possible service to our community and surrounding areas.


The Nuclear Medicine Technologist is responsible for preparing, performing and documenting scans, images and tests as required, ensuring high quality tests, patient safety and appropriate use of radiopharmaceuticals, preventative maintenance and quality assurance duties as required.

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist will perform high quality procedures in accordance with departmental standards to aid in a patient's diagnosis and/or treatment. 


WHAT YOU MUST HAVE: 

  • Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Program
  • College of Medical Radiation Technologists NM designation
  • Registration with CMRITO
  • IV Certification and ability to administer radiopharmaceuticals
  • BLS certificate
  • TDG Training within the last three (3) years
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and application of practical and theoretical nuclear medicine knowledge
  • Strong interpersonal verbal and non-verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of infection control practices
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to patient and staff safety
  • Ability to adapt to changes in assignments throughout a shift, follow instructions and conduct yourself professionally
  • Ability to work alone, prioritize and take initiative – self-motivated
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills with ability to positively influence others and develop trusting internal and external relationships
  • Physical ability to carry out the essential duties of the position
  • Ability to regularly attend work in accordance with the Attendance Support Program
  • Acceptable performance record that is aligned with STEGH values and code of conduct

 WHAT WE PREFER YOU TO HAVE:

 HOURS:

The successful candidate must be available to work all tours applicable to the department. In addition, this position must be flexible to occasional changes in hours when required to meet the operational needs of the department and be able to commit to the non-availability standards outlined in the Collective Agreement.
