About the Role:

This role is responsible for executing daily materials movement and management, coordinating inbound receipts to delivery to storage locations or delivery locations, detrashing, putting away, and managing reorders, ensuring accurate documentation, provides process input and maintains a safe and organized work environment. The position requires prior experience in a pharmaceutical, biotechnology, life sciences, or similarly regulated industry. This position supports material handling, inventory management, and warehouse operations for the campus and multiple sites. The role performs a broad range of activities including inventory management, materials movement, shipping and receiving, and system transactions. The Sr Materials Coordinator applies technical knowledge and judgment to resolve issues, improve processes, and ensure accurate and timely material flow to support research and development and operational goals. Role provide input for materials management processes and assists in calculating stocking levels across point of use locations and storage locations.

Your Contributions (include, but are not limited to):

  • Execute daily warehouse operations including receiving, storage, picking, packing, and distribution of materials

  • Operates warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks) safely and in compliance with company procedures/work instructions

  • Ensure accurate receipt, verification, and documentation of incoming shipments, maintaining material traceability and material condition standards

  • Support research and development and operations by staging materials, tools, and components in alignment with schedules to minimize downtime or interruption

  • Kanban distribution of stock to point of use locations throughout labs

  • Coordinating and managing supplies, stocking levels, to meet the needs of the research staff by performing transactions and maintaining system accuracy across material movements, point of use and stockroom activities

  • Supports evaluation of point of use and stocking locations for stocking strategy, including monitoring vendor lead times, and recommends process/system improvements to ensure accuracy for levels planned. Creates Kanban cards and ensures ability to scan. Ability to use excel required

  • Manages process to ensure consistent flow of materials and reordering consistent with stocking strategy and communication from labs on atypical usage. Investigate discrepancies for material availability and drives resolution and root cause

  • Identify material flow or inventory issues and take appropriate action to resolve or escalate based on impact

  • Apply judgment to prioritize tasks and adjust workflows to meet operational demands and deadlines

  • Generate and maintain stocking and operational reports; track key metrics such as accuracy, cycle time, days of supply and throughput

  • Participate in and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives; identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and safety and drive assigned improvements to completion

  • Provide guidance and support to less experienced team members on processes, systems, and best practices, including on the job training

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with OSHA and company standards

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., research and development, clinical, planning, quality) to ensure effective material support

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma / Associates degree and 4+ years of data entry and receiving experience preferred. Bio-tech or laboratory experience preferred

  • Some college courses preferred

  • Working knowledge of inventory systems, warehouse operations, and material management processes

  • Ability to calculate stocking strategies and drive implementation

  • Understanding shipping, receiving, and logistics documentation

  • Ability to troubleshoot material flow issues and work with vendors and procurement to drive resolution

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and material management systems (Coupa Preferred)

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Forklift certification (or ability to obtain within 60 days)

  • Valid driver’s license

  • Working knowledge of material management systems, warehouse operations, and material management processes

  • Understands how own area contributes to the achievement of objectives

  • Ability to exercise sound judgment in a fast-paced, changing environment

  • Effective communication skills and ability to work across teams

The hourly rate we reasonably expect to pay is $28.15-$38.41. Individual pay decisions depend on various factors, such as primary work location, complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. In addition, this position offers an annual bonus with a target of 20% of the earned base salary and eligibility to participate in our equity based long term incentive program. Benefits offered include a retirement savings plan (with company match), paid vacation, holiday and personal days, paid caregiver/parental and medical leave, and health benefits to include medical, prescription drug, dental and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans.
