Area Overview
Leads mechanical assembly and lead operations for High CT (AEG) X-ray source product lines, including LMB and MBX platforms. This area supports the production of low-volume, high-mix, highly complex medical imaging components, requiring precision assembly, advanced process control, and strict adherence to regulatory requirements.
This operation is critical to delivering high-performance CT products to global OEM partners and involves complex integration, specialized materials (including lead handling), and close alignment with engineering and quality organizations.
Area Specific Responsibilities
Own end-to-end performance of AEG mechanical assembly and lead operations, including safety, quality, delivery, and productivity within a 24/7 production environment
Drive execution against key metrics such as on-time delivery (OTD), yield, throughput, and cost performance
Lead assembly of complex, high-performance CT components, ensuring:
Precision build execution
Adherence to standardized work and process controls
Product integrity in high-reliability applications
Oversee lead (Pb) handling and assembly processes, ensuring safe handling, compliance, and process discipline
Partner with supply chain, planning, and upstream production teams to ensure material availability and schedule alignment, while mitigating real-time disruptions
Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering and quality teams to:
Resolve complex product and process issues
Reduce defects, warranty exposure, and COPQ
Improve manufacturability and assembly robustness
Lead new product introduction (NPI) efforts for High CT platforms, ensuring smooth transition from development to stable production
Champion Lean Manufacturing within a complex assembly environment, with focus on:
Process standardization and documentation
Line balance and workflow optimization
Reduction of rework, cycle time, and inefficiencies
Serve as project leader for assembly improvements, tooling enhancements, and capital investments, including business case development for equipment upgrades
Own planning for assembly capacity, labor strategy, and specialized tooling/equipment, ensuring readiness to meet demand
Ensure compliance with QMS, GMP, CAPA, and safety requirements, including those specific to material handling and regulated medical device manufacturing
Lead adoption and effectiveness of digital manufacturing systems (MES, SAP, traceability systems) to improve process control and data visibility
Technical/Functional Requirements
Strong experience in precision mechanical assembly of complex electro-mechanical systems, ideally within CT or high-performance imaging products
Experience in high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environments with high product variability
Demonstrated experience with:
Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement in assembly operations
Root cause analysis and corrective action (RCA/CAPA)
Process standardization, documentation, and training development
Production systems (MES, SAP, or equivalent)
Experience supporting NPI and scaling of technically complex products into production
Familiarity with regulated manufacturing environments (GMP, QMS), including quality and compliance requirements
Preferred familiarity with:
High voltage / high vacuum systems
Controlled material handling (e.g., lead or regulated substances)
Unique Challenges of the Role
Managing highly complex CT product builds requiring precision, repeatability, and strict quality adherence
Overseeing operations that include specialized material handling (lead processes) with safety and compliance implications
Balancing production execution with frequent engineering updates and evolving product designs
Maintaining stable output in a high variability, high-requirement production environment
Coordinating across multiple technical disciplines to resolve issues and maintain flow
Key Performance Objectives
Deliver consistent OTD, first-pass yield, and productivity performance for High CT products
Reduce assembly defects, rework, and cost of poor quality (COPQ)
Improve process efficiency through standardization, line balance, and workflow optimization
Successfully execute assembly-related improvement and capital projects
Strengthen workforce capability through structured training and skills development
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting CT or high-performance medical imaging product lines
