Job Description:

At Hitachi Energy, we are looking for an experienced and highly independent Financial Analyst / Controller to join our Global IT Controlling team. This role offers a high degree of flexibility and is predominantly remote, making it ideal for a proactive professional who thrives in an autonomous environment, takes ownership of responsibilities, manages priorities independently, and delivers results with minimal supervision. Success in this position requires strong self-management, accountability, and the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders across different countries and time zones.

In this role, you will provide reporting and controlling expertise by analyzing financial performance, identifying trends and risks, and recommending actions to support informed decision-making across a global function. You will partner closely with the Global Financial Controller and senior management on financial and commercial matters while helping to drive the function's overall performance. As part of the Global IT Controlling team, you will report functionally to the Global Financial Controller.

Your responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate the function cost allocation and chargeback process in collaboration with local units and functional stakeholders.
  • Coordinate and ensure the timely creation of purchase orders, serving as a key point of contact for vendors and business stakeholders and supporting issue resolution.
  • Support financial analysis and provide insights into actuals, budgets, forecasts, spending trends, key drivers, risks, and variances.
  • Prepare month-end journal entries, including complex and judgmental transactions, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and adherence to accounting policies.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts.
  • Build, maintain, and enhance interactive dashboards, reports, and data visualizations to support business decision-making.
  • Drive continuous improvement, automation, and standardization initiatives across financial processes, reporting, and analytics.

Your background

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Proven track record with 3+ years of experience in financial analysis, controlling, or financial reporting; experience in a global company is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of finance processes, workflows, and tools.
  • Experience with SAP or a similar ERP system.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
  • Experience with Power BI is an advantage.
  • Proactive, solution-oriented, and driven personality with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Strong analytical thinking, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities, combined with excellent numerical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong time-management skills and attention to detail, with a commitment to delivering high-quality results on time.
  • High level of integrity and transparency, combined with a dedicated, careful, and independent approach to work.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English is required. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with senior stakeholders are essential.
  • Experience with global cost allocation and chargeback mechanisms would be an advantage.

Our offer:

  • A collaborative and people-focused culture built on mutual respect, teamwork, and finding practical solutions that create real value.
  • Excellent opportunities for both professional and personal development, supported by well-established career growth paths.
  • A diverse and experienced team where you'll work alongside long-tenured experts as well as early-career professionals, creating a great environment for learning and knowledge sharing.
  • The stability of a successful global company combined with an innovative mindset and a strong focus on modern technologies and operational excellence. We bring together engineering, manufacturing, and sales expertise under one roof.
  • 5 weeks of vacation.
  • Flexible working hours with a 7.5-hour workday.
  • A paid day off on your birthday.
  • Fully company-funded meal vouchers worth CZK 110 per working day.
  • Annual Cafeteria benefit allowance or multisport card.
  • Company contribution to your pension savings plan.
  • Discounted mobile phone plans for employees.
  • Service anniversary awards, retirement bonuses, and additional benefits under our collective agreement.
