
Trade Marketing & Sales Support Manager, Theatrical Distribution
Job Description
This dual-function role combines strategic marketing promotional partnerships and in-theatre marketing implementations with operational sales execution, working closely with exhibitors in Mexico to optimize both promotional impact and booking performance. The position translates release strategies into circuit-specific marketing activations while supporting session planning, booking management, and box office analysis. This position reports to the Heads of Mexico Theatrical Marketing & Distribution.
Key job responsibilities
Trade Marketing & Exhibitor Collaborations:
• Develop and maintain strategic relationships with local cinema circuit marketing teams to create effective and innovative marketing campaigns that connect target audiences for all theatrical releases in Mexico
• Support the Heads of Mexico Theatrical Marketing and Distribution to fulfil co-op marketing agreements with circuits, including budget arrangements, sequential activation, flighting, promotional commitments and marketing deliverables
• Coordinate joint and integrated local promotional activities including in-cinema displays, website and lobby takeovers, premium format promotions, and digital signage campaigns, point of sale & concession campaigns
• Lead creative localization and/or development for in-theater materials/assets based on each film's global campaign and local strategy
• Coordinate the production and delivery of circuit-specific marketing material/assets for Mexico including standees, posters, digital content and co-branded materials
• Track and report on co-op marketing campaign effectiveness and return on investment by circuit in Mexico
• Provide market intelligence from local circuit partners to inform marketing campaign development and sales strategies
• Support competitive intelligence across Mexico and key international markets, including local promotional strategies and release positioning
• Analyze correlation between marketing spend by circuit and box office and market share performance to optimize future campaigns
• Coordinate with the Int’l Marketing team on practices, initiatives and PLF materials
• Manage local trade marketing budgets and reconcile co-op marketing expenditures with cinema circuits including processing invoices and tracking payments for circuit marketing collaborations in coordination with Finance team
Sales Support & Account Management:
• Assist in executing local sales strategies across theatrical releases that align with commercial objectives
• Manage local independent exhibitor bookings, holdovers, and maintain accurate records of sales terms and payments in coordination with Finance team
• Establish and cultivate strong working relationships with local exhibitors, serving as a key point of contact for both marketing and sales matters
Operations & Materials Management:
• Partner with Sales & Operations to coordinate end-to-end delivery of materials, trailers, posters and promotional materials to exhibitors across Mexico, coordinating with tech suppliers and Content Delivery Service providers
• Manage the planning, production, classification and delivery of trailers and promotional assets across Mexico
• Assist with premiere events, special screenings and experiential marketing activations in collaboration with cinema circuits across Mexico
• Create and implement local strategic framework and execution of internal and external screening programs in collaboration with marketing, publicity, and social.
• Support the development and implementation of exhibitor conventions, trade shows and industry events in Mexico including co-ordination and production of materials, on-site activations and presentation keynotes.
Amazon MGM Studios seeks a Trade Marketing & Sales Support Manager for Theatrical Distribution across Mexico who will be responsible for developing and executing co-operative trade marketing campaigns
- 3+ years of entertainment marketing, audio, or other media sales experience
- Experience managing relationships with sound, editorial and finishing post facilities
- Experience in movies & TV distribution/licensing
- Experience managing and coordinating multiple projects simultaneously
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, SharePoint, and PowerPoint)
- Proven experience with co-operative marketing agreements and managing collaboration budgets
- Confidence working with spreadsheets, databases, sales tools and business intelligence platforms
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities with internal teams and external partners
- Understanding of theatrical exhibition landscape, cinema marketing capabilities, and sales dynamics
- Budget management experience with ability to track ROI and campaign effectiveness
- Problem-solving mindset with ability to adapt to changing release schedules and market conditions
- Knowledge of entertainment industry trends and players
- Experience navigating production, talent, content, marketing and other commercial transactions
- Familiarity with box office analytics and ability to correlate marketing spend with performance outcomes
- Understanding of theatrical windows and release planning considerations
- Experience with business intelligence (Tableau, Power BI, ComScore, Numero) and event management (Zkipster) tools
- Experience coordinating and representing a studio at industry events and conventions
