About the role
We are looking for a Production Planner to join our manufacturing operation in Chermside. This is a key role within the business, responsible for translating customer demand and inventory requirements into efficient production plans that support service, productivity and operational performance.
Working across multiple fabrication work centres, you will manage end-to-end production planning activities from raw materials through to finished goods and dispatch. Reporting to the Production Manager, you will collaborate closely with Manufacturing, Sales, Purchasing and suppliers to ensure production schedules are aligned to business priorities and customer requirements.
What you will do
Develop and maintain production schedules across multiple fabrication work centres.
Coordinate workflow from raw materials through cutting, drilling, machining, welding, outsourcing and dispatch.
Manage customer order requirements, stock replenishment and batch planning activities.
Create short and medium-term production plans to support operational requirements and forecast demand.
Monitor key operational metrics including DIFOT, inventory performance, machine/fabrication centre utilisation and production efficiency.
Maintain accurate planning data, provide reporting, and utilise business systems to drive effective decision-making.
Identify planning constraints and implement solutions to improve operational outcomes.
Support continuous improvement initiatives and help establish best-practice production planning processes.
About you
You are an experienced planner who enjoys working in a fast-paced batch processing manufacturing environment and are curious, a creative thinker, agile with a thirst to continuously learn, and collaborative in all that you do!
Previous experience in production, manufacturing, supply or demand planning
An understanding of manufacturing/fabrication processes, materials, mechanical or shop‑floor operation (advantageous)
Technically savvy with advanced excel computer skills and proficient with planning ERP systems
High attention to detail and a process-driven approach.
Organised with the ability to prioritise to meet customer demands.
Strong problem-solving, attention to detail and analytical capability
A proactive mindset with the confidence to challenge existing processes and drive improvements.
The ability to build strong working relationships across multiple functions.
