JOB SUMMARY
The Drawback Consultant will work directly with customers and CBP and will be involved in all aspects of the drawback process including preparing manual & automated claims, developing SOPs, and preparing responses to Customs inquiries. The Consultant will also be a source for the team with regulatory knowledge, able to train employees on different types of drawback, and handle multiple clients ranging in size and volume.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Complete processing and submission of drawback claims
- Management of multiple Drawback clients
- Completion of Applications, Desk Reviews, and other correspondence with CBP
- Available for guidance to the other members of the Drawback Team
- Assist with the integration of new drawback programs
- Provide consulting services to drawback clients
- Resolve client issues and suggest process improvements
- Maintain client folders, documentation and desk procedures
- Assist with maximization of existing drawback programs
- Provide outstanding customer service to clients
- Assist in monitoring the quality level for projects and ensure that quality issues are properly addressed and resolved.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
- 5 + years of technical experience in customs and international trade
- Ideally 5 + years of technical drawback expertise in processing Drawback refunds
- Customs broker’s license, Certified Customs Specialist or confirmed customs experience
- Ability to read and understand customs rules and regulations and apply them to the clients’ operations and challenges
- Strong analytical ability and strategic thinker with ability to manage projects from inception through execution
- Strong proficiency in MS Office (particularly Excel and Access).
- Highly detail oriented and capable of handling large amounts of data
- Ability to work under tight deadlines
- Must be honest, dependable and confidential
- Excellent organizational skills and be able to work independently with minimal managerial input
- Self-starting and great with time management
- Concise communication skills (both verbally and in writing)

Base salary is one component of our total rewards package which also includes incentive opportunities, benefits, and professional development. Salary ranges are established by location and reflect relevant factors such as skills, experience, and market conditions. The good-faith salary range for this position is $71,875 - $111,000 USD. Actual compensation will be determined based on these factors and may vary accordingly.
