
Senior Manufacturing Engineer
Job Description
Job Overview
|
Determine manufacturing strategies and design processes for heat treating, robotic welding, fabrication and machining of parts, sub-assemblies and machine assemblies, with limited direction |
|
Coordinate and participate in capital planning at the site and regional level, write appropriations requests for plant projects and expansions |
|
Program CNC machines (lathes/mills) and robotic welding machines. Maintain fabrication and machining standards; Build assembly routers with historical data and time studies |
|
Maintain standards and methods for costing parts |
|
Direct and design fixtures for work holding to reduce manufacturing cost, lead time, and quality |
|
Manage Design for Manufacturability and Assembly - engaging with engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain |
Key Job Responsibilities
|
Coordinate and execute the observation, documentation or simulation of manufacturing processes |
|
Create and modify manufacturing drawings, in two and three dimensions |
|
Create and manipulate three-dimension drawings of parts to depict manufacturing processes |
|
Research other costing methods and update standards and methods used for parts costing |
|
Understand data interactions with other departments and systems; Understand and update capacity and scheduling areas of SAP; Determine and implement SAP capacity schemes for manufacturing locations |
|
Process engineering changes for manufacturing drawings, routers, programs, and work instructions |
Qualifications/Requirements
|
4 year degree in Engineering, preferably Industrial or Manufacturing with a minimum of 8 years of experience required. |
|
Strong written communication skills |
|
Ability to express manufacturing concepts conversationally in meetings, face to face, over the phone and in email |
|
Ability to work with people on a manufacturing floor in a productive, non-combative nature |
|
Can plan and manage projects with manufacturing engineers, other internal departments, manufacturing sites, and suppliers to meet deadlines |
