Since 1973, Taber Extrusions has been a leading manufacturer of aluminum extrusion-based products for OEMs in markets ranging from Military, Department of Defense, Aircraft/Aerospace, Marine/Shipbuilder, Boat Docks, Platforms, Decking, Motor Housing, Electronics, Heat Sinks, Automotive, Rail, and Structural Components. Taber is headquartered in Russellville, Arkansas and operates two manufacturing sites in Russellville and one manufacturing site located in Gulfport, Mississippi. The Company is segmented into five operating units; Extrusion, Cast House, Fabrication, Friction Stir Welding and Micro Extrusion. Taber has continued to make ongoing investments in their value-added capabilities by recently expanding their Russellville facility to house their new friction stir welder.
Currently, Taber is seeking a Metallurgist to join our Team. At Taber the Metallurgist is vital to the success of our organization. As a direct link to our quality and operations groups, you will support the Taber organization regarding the composition and properties of our products, offering solutions and new opportunities for our stakeholders.

Job Summary
Responsible for providing metallurgical support Aluminum extrusion and machining operations. As well as providing analytical support to the quality and manufacturing operations regarding composition and properties of extruded aluminum throughout the operation.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide technical/metallurgical support to plant, internal sales group, external sales group, and end customer (direct and end user) personnel as required. Act as principal liaison between customer and plant on quality and technical issues.
Develop and implement metallurgical practices as necessary to support efforts in product development, quality, and recovery to achieve and surpass metallurgical KPIs.
Provide quality assurance support. Disposition MRB, claims, discrepant shipments, etc., as necessary in order to sustain "Best in Class" levels of quality and promote customer satisfaction.
Maintain customer and industry specifications. Ensure correct practices, sampling, testing, etc. are associated with each specification. Review incoming specifications for acceptability and communicate any exceptions to customers.
Prepare required operational reports and guidelines.
Manage metallurgical processes and projects.
Assist in the development, review, and implementation of operating procedures.
Education and Experience:
An undergraduate degree in metallurgy or materials science is required. Advanced Degree preferred.
5 years relevant experience in the aluminum or related (e.g., aerospace) industry (10+ years preferred).
University degree in Metallurgical/Chemical Engineering from an accredited program;

Ability to work with scientific formulas and calculations, using statistics to analyze processes and testing.
