About the role

Rothschild & Co is seeking a highly experienced investment professional to join its Wealth Management division in Zurich or Geneva.

In this senior role, you will advise institutional clients, family offices, and Ultra-High-Net-Worth Individuals (UHNWIs) on the construction of bespoke total wealth portfolio solutions. You will combine deep technical expertise across public and private markets with strong client-facing and pitching capabilities.

The role focuses on total wealth diagnostics, strategic asset allocation, and the design and presentation of holistic bespoke mandates that bridge public and private markets.

Key responsibilities

Client Profiling & Total Wealth Diagnostics

  • Conduct institutional-grade asset-liability and total wealth analysis
  • Analyse complex portfolios across liquid (equities, fixed income, hedge funds) and illiquid assets (private equity, venture capital, real estate, direct investments)
  • Identify client-specific constraints including investment horizons, tax considerations, governance, liquidity needs, and succession or structuring aspects

Mandate Design & Strategic Asset Allocation

  • Develop comprehensive current state analyses identifying concentrations, mismatches, and inefficiencies
  • Design tailored strategic asset allocation frameworks and future state mandates across liquid and illiquid investments
  • Apply advanced portfolio construction concepts, including:
    • Illiquid dynamics (J-curve modelling, capital calls, distributions, vintage diversification)
    • Risk and performance metrics (IRR, volatility, maximum drawdown, VaR, correlation profiles)
  • Coordinate with internal investment specialists to ensure effective implementation and phased deployment strategies

Client Engagement & Business Development

  • Lead high-value investment pitches and translate complex asset allocation frameworks into clear, compelling narratives
  • Defend investment strategies, allocation decisions, and risk-modelling assumptions with sophisticated family office investment committees
  • Partner closely with Senior Relationship Managers on client acquisition, onboarding, and development of existing client relationships

Your profile

  • 10–15 years of experience within a private bank, family office, or institutional asset manager
  • Strong track record in UHNW or institutional portfolio construction and asset allocation
  • Deep understanding of public markets and private assets (private equity, private debt, infrastructure, real estate)
  • Strong quantitative skills (e.g. Sharpe ratio, illiquidity premiums, correlation analysis, cash-flow modelling)
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to simplify complex topics
  • Strong analytical capabilities and experience with portfolio optimisation tools
  • Solid understanding of the Swiss regulatory framework (FinSA / FinIA) and cross-border investment complexities
  • Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, or a quantitative discipline
  • CFA, CAIA, or CFP qualification preferred
  • English (native or full professional fluency) required
  • German and/or French strongly preferred

Benefits

  • Rothschild & Co provides a wide range of health and wellbeing services, supported by above‑average employer contributions to pension and social insurance, strengthening your long‑term financial security.
  • A collaborative, respectful and inclusive workplace where people feel valued, empowered and able to contribute their ideas.
  • A purpose-driven culture guided by our long‑standing principles of being thoughtful, creative and principled, with a focus on responsible and long‑term decision‑making.
  • Continuous learning through in‑house training opportunities and financial support for external education and professional certifications.
  • Flexible ways of working with the possibility to work from home up to 40%, based on the role.
