About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced Technical Lead – Division 28 to provide technical leadership across security and integrated systems infrastructure for complex construction and mission-critical projects.
In this role, you’ll serve as the technical bridge between design intent and field execution—leading coordination efforts across access control, surveillance, intrusion detection, electrified openings, and integrated life-safety/security systems. You’ll work closely with subcontractors, vendors, BIM/VDC teams, field leadership, and design partners to ensure Division 28 systems are fully coordinated, constructable, and ready for execution.
From early design through testing and turnover, you’ll play a critical role in driving technical alignment, resolving integration challenges, and ensuring systems are delivered with quality, continuity, and operational readiness.

In this role, you’ll serve as the technical bridge between design intent and field execution—leading coordination efforts across access control, surveillance, intrusion detection, electrified openings, and integrated life-safety/security systems. You’ll work closely with subcontractors, vendors, BIM/VDC teams, field leadership, and design partners to ensure Division 28 systems are fully coordinated, constructable, and ready for execution.

What You’ll Do – Lead Technical Coordination. Drive Execution Success.
- Partner with subcontractors, vendors, and trade partners to validate device requirements, system interfaces, sequence of operations, and installation assumptions.
- Convert Division 28 design intent into coordinated, field-executable work packages aligned with installation sequencing and construction realities.
- Support technical coordination and constructability reviews for access control, CCTV, intrusion detection, security head-end systems, and integrated security platforms.
- Ensure alignment between electrified hardware, door systems, access control devices, power requirements, and control interfaces.
- Validate compatibility and coordination between security systems, network infrastructure, life-safety systems, and supporting electrical systems.
- Identify and eliminate scope gaps, integration conflicts, and coordination issues before release to the field.
- Work closely with BIM/VDC teams, construction leadership, design partners, vendors, and field teams to ensure coordinated installation sequencing and execution readiness.
- Remain actively engaged through procurement, submittals, RFIs, technical reviews, and field support activities to preserve continuity across project phases.
- Assist field teams in resolving installation issues, integration challenges, and device coordination concerns during active construction.
- Support commissioning, testing, system validation, and turnover activities to ensure systems meet operational and security requirements.
Systems & Infrastructure You’ll Support
- Badge readers, controllers, electrified hardware, door interfaces, and integrated access management platforms
- IP CCTV infrastructure, cameras, recording systems, monitoring environments, and integrated security platforms
- Alarm systems, monitoring integrations, perimeter security, and critical infrastructure protection systems
- Coordination across Division 28, Division 26 electrical infrastructure, Division 8 openings/hardware, and supporting network systems
- Data centers, high-security facilities, and technically complex environments requiring high levels of coordination and reliability
What You Bring
- 7–10+ years of experience supporting Division 28 systems, integrated security infrastructure, or mission-critical construction environments
- Strong expertise in access control, CCTV, intrusion detection, and integrated security platforms
- Experience coordinating electrified openings, door hardware interfaces, and integrated control systems
- Deep understanding of system integration, sequence of operation, and multi-trade coordination workflows
- Ability to translate complex technical designs into coordinated, field-executable installation strategies
- Proven experience supporting design-assist and design-build project delivery models
- Strong constructability knowledge and ability to identify coordination risks early
- Familiarity with RFIs, submittals, revisions, commissioning, testing, and turnover workflows
- Experience collaborating with subcontractors, vendors, BIM/VDC teams, and field leadership
- Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to drive technical discussions and influence execution decisions
- Ability to operate effectively in fast-paced, high-pressure, mission-critical environments
- High attention to detail with focus on integration quality, coordination, and operational readiness
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Information Technology, or related field preferred, or equivalent industry experience
- OSHA 30 certification preferred
- Security platform certifications and manufacturer credentials are a plus

This role operates within both office and active construction site environments. Responsibilities may include standing, walking, climbing, bending, kneeling, lifting up to 50 pounds, and participating in field coordination and installation activities. Close visual attention is required for reviewing plans, specifications, technical documentation, and field conditions.
