The Department of Neurology at Duke University School of Medicine is seeking an accomplished academic clinician with a strong record of leadership in clinical trials design, execution, and oversight in Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias (ADRD), a highly collaborative, multidisciplinary, and translational team, jointly supported by Neuroscience Trials Unit of the Duke Clinical Research Institute (DCRI) and the Duke/UNC Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center (ADRC). This clinician-scientist will play a central role in expanding and leading a world-class therapeutic development program in Alzheimer’s disease.

  • Jointly supported by the Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center and the Duke Clinical Research Institute
  • Provide scientific and clinical leadership in the design, conduct, and oversight of phase I–IV clinical trials in Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias
  • Develop and lead an independent, externally funded clinical research program focused on disease-modifying and/or symptomatic therapies
  • Mentor junior faculty, trainees, and research staff in clinical investigation and trial methodology
  • Contribute to clinical care in memory disorders, consistent with the candidate’s specialty.
  • Appointment may be in the Department of Neurology, Psychiatry, or Medicine, depending on the candidate’s discipline and background
