The opportunity:
The Legal Counsel Specialist is responsible for providing comprehensive legal support across business operations. This role focuses on mitigating legal risks, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and contributing to strategic decision-making. The position works closely with internal stakeholders and external counsel to safeguard the organization’s legal and commercial interests.
How you’ll make an impact:
Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including sales, procurement, partnership, non-disclosure agreements, and complex EPC contracts.
Independently participate in contract risk reviews and provide legal recommendations.
Provide legal advice on corporate governance, intellectual property, data privacy, employment law, and regulatory compliance.
Conduct legal research and analysis to identify risks and opportunities related to business activities and initiatives.
Manage and coordinate with external legal counsel on specialized legal matters and litigation.
Develop and deliver legal awareness and training programs for internal stakeholders.
Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of internal policies and procedures to ensure legal compliance.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and business units to provide proactive legal support aligned with business objectives.
Stay updated on relevant legal, regulatory, and industry developments that may impact business operations.
Your background:
Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree from an accredited institution.
5–8 years of relevant legal experience, preferably in an in-house role at a multinational organization or with a reputed law firm specializing in corporate or commercial law.
Strong knowledge of contract law, intellectual property, and data privacy regulations.
Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to present complex legal concepts clearly.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Strong stakeholder management and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in spoken and written English is required.
