EDUCATION: Matric
N3/N4 Qualified Fitter /Artisan/Turner/Turner Machinist advantage.
EXPERIENCE: 4 Years Experience in Valves, Actuarators and controls
2 Years’ experience specific to KSB Product
REQUIREMENTS: Knowledge of HP (High Pressure) and LP (Low Pressure) Valves.
Insight into on-site Valve Machining and Lapping
Strong fault‑finding and troubleshooting ability.
Understanding of valve trim, seals, packing, seats, and internal components.
- Precision fitting with reference to components assembly, especially bearings, both white metal sleeve type as well as normal roller and ball bearings and also tilting pad arrangements
- Precision measuring ability both inside and outside micrometers, verniers and depth gauges as well as telescopic gauges, and DTI’s
- Sound engineering practices with regard to fitting of tolerance components, such as sleeves, impellers, couplings etc (Knowledge of fits and tolerances)
- Ability to read and interpret detailed engineering drawings
- Previous or current exposure to equipment installations and “Mechanical Fitting Practices”
- Shaft and coupling alignment, both multiple dial and laser method
- General experience on rotating equipment such as blowers, compressors, gear reducers, motor drives and ideally on multi-stage pumps
- Exposure to pump systems, fault finding and pump systems start up, and commissioning practices
- Support and train current and new Field Service Engineers
- Assist the Field Service Supervisor in the execution of their daily task.
- Demonstrate appropriate behavior in the workplace (attendance, teamwork, safety, etc.)
- Provide work leadership and technical assistance to Field Service Engineers
- Comply with and enforce all KSB Pumps and Valves (Pty) Ltd Policies and Procedures
- Assist fellow employees with daily functions as and when required
Carry out all other reasonable tasks that may be delegated from time to time
