About The Role
This is a senior leadership opportunity for an experienced delivery and business leader to step into the role of Programme Director – UK / Europe. As a member of the Regional Leadership Team, you will provide integrated, multi-functional leadership across a diverse portfolio, translating strategy and growth opportunities into high-quality, predictable outcomes for customers and the business.
You will be accountable for the overall health of the portfolio, including performance, profitability, and governance across a range of programmes and contracts. This includes making confident, well-balanced decisions within your delegated authority, aligning priorities across bids, delivery, resourcing, and investment to protect margin, manage risk, and ensure consistently strong delivery performance.
A key part of the role is leading and developing a group of Heads of Programmes, supporting them as effective cross-functional leaders within a matrix environment. You will set clear expectations, establish a strong operating rhythm, and drive consistency in standards, performance, and ways of working across programme areas.
You will also play an important role in shaping future work, working closely with business development colleagues to ensure opportunities are deliverable, commercially sound, and appropriately resourced. This includes supporting mobilisation and setting programmes up for success from the outset.
The role spans both defence and commercial environments. You may bring experience delivering in defence contexts, or transferable experience from commercial sectors such as maritime, ports and marine infrastructure, energy transition, or other complex, competitive markets.
This is a highly visible leadership role with regular interaction across senior stakeholders, customers, and internal teams. It requires a strong leadership presence across the UK and Europe, along with the ability to build trusted relationships and influence at a senior level.
About You
You are an established senior leader with experience operating at pace in a matrix environment, comfortable making decisions, trading priorities, and driving outcomes through others. You bring strong commercial and financial understanding, with a clear view of how project and contract performance connects to regional gross profit and wider P&L outcomes.
