Supply Chain Director
Location: Alajuela, Costa Rica – Onsite
Reports to: General Manager
Supervises: Procurement Supervisor, Planning Supervisor, Warehouse Supervisor
Position Summary
The Supply Chain Director is responsible for leading and optimizing the end‑to‑end supply chain function, including procurement, planning, warehousing, logistics, and supplier management. This leadership role ensures that supply chain operations effectively support production needs, regulatory compliance, cost optimization, and business growth within a medical device environment.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
7+ years of experience in supply chain management within medical devices or other regulated industries.
Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements related to medical device manufacturing.
Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
Proven leadership and team development experience.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Planning
Develop and execute strategic supply chain plans aligned with company objectives.
Identify opportunities to improve processes and reduce costs across the supply chain.
2. Supplier Management
Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure reliable material supply.
Negotiate contracts, terms, and commercial agreements; oversee supplier performance.
3. Inventory Management
Oversee inventory levels to meet production demands while minimizing excess and obsolete stock.
Implement inventory controls to improve accuracy and operational efficiency.
4. Logistics & Distribution
Manage end‑to‑end logistics including transportation, warehousing, and distribution.
Collaborate with logistics partners to optimize delivery schedules and reduce lead times.
5. Quality & Compliance
Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and industry requirements for medical device supply chain operations.
Implement quality control measures to maintain product safety and integrity.
6. Cross-Functional Collaboration
Collaborate with manufacturing, procurement, sales, and other departments to align supply chain operations with business needs.
Lead cross‑functional teams to resolve supply chain challenges and implement corrective actions.
