Job Description

Overview

The Level I Technician performs all aspects of MHE planned maintenance service on equipment. This position requires knowledge of mechanics hand tools and basic automotive experience. Must have computer experience, good communication skills and good customer service skills. This position will report to a lead technician or manager.


Responsibilities

  • Responsible for forklift (LP and electrical) Preventative Maintenance services
    • Fluid change, engine oil, transmission fluid, differential gear lube and hydraulic fluid.
    • Filter replacements, Air filter, oil filter, fuel filter and ATF filter.
  • Perform Tune Up’s- adjust valves and replace spark plug and spark plug wires.
  • Brake / riser adjustments
  • Inspect and repack wheel bearings
  • Inspect and water forklift batteries on a defined schedule
  • Battery removal and installs
  • Equipment paint touch ups as required
  • Attachment pad rotations
  • Part replacements as necessary – can include horns, lights, tires, etc.
  • Meet a minimum of 60 Completed PM Services per month
  • Keep a minimum of a 80 - 90% productivity level

Qualifications

  • Post high school / technical school education not required, but desirable
  • Customer service skills
  • Computer applications using MS Office
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Must be able to lift and/or pull 75 lbs or more without restriction
  • Must be able to work outside in inclement weather conditions
  • Must be able to work in environment with excessive noise and respiratory hazards without restriction
  • Must be able to stand or lie down for extended periods of time to repair equipment
  • Must be able to have flexible movement: to reach equipment and/or parts and maneuver equipment
  • Must have and keep a valid driver's license.
