Description
Lancashire Insurance Company Limited, a member of the Lancashire Insurance Group, is seeking an Administrative Assistant to join our Legal & Compliance Team in Bermuda. Reporting to the Company Secretary & Corporate Governance Advisor and working alongside the Senior Legal and Compliance Administrator, the successful applicant will provide company secretarial and administrative support to Lancashire Group entities based in Bermuda, UK and the US.
Key Responsibilities
- To assist with preparing and collating board and committee packs for various Lancashire Group boards and committees.
- Assist with administrative preparations for board and shareholder meetings.
- Assist with preparing and circulating minutes and action points from meetings to the appropriate parties.
- Assist with various corporate secretarial tasks.
- Provide general administrative support to the Legal and Compliance departments in Bermuda, the U.K. and the U.S. as required.
- Prepare quarterly Lancashire Foundation Donations Committee and Trustees packs including collating donation requests, governance tasks, funding memos and other ad hoc requests.
- Provide occasional administrative support to the Bermuda CEO and the Group Chief Risk Officer as required.
- Assist with ad hoc projects and tasks as required.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Bachelor’s level education, compliance and/or administrative professional certifications are advantageous.
- A legal or corporate law background or experience as a corporate administrator, ideally gained within a corporate or insurance environment, is preferred.
- Experience with Board paper support software, preferably Diligent, is desirable.
- Must have excellent organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and work on one's own initiative.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office applications specifically Word and Excel.
- Strong written and oral communication skills as well as the ability to interact with individuals on all levels.
- A positive, professional, and flexible attitude is essential.
- Strong work ethics and the ability to work extended hours, including weekends during busy periods, are required.
