Job Description
Senior Design Manager – Program Delivery & Services (PDS)
Lead the delivery of complex, high-impact infrastructure projects shaping Australia’s future.
At Aurecon, we believe the best projects are delivered by people who thrive on complexity, collaboration and creating better outcomes.
We’re growing our Defence Program Delivery & Services (PDS) team and are looking for a Senior Design Manager to help lead multidisciplinary delivery across a major pipeline of defence, infrastructure and buildings projects across South Australia and Victoria.
This is an opportunity to work on technically challenging, nationally significant projects alongside some of the industry’s leading engineers, architects and delivery professionals, while continuing to grow your own leadership capability in a high-performing consultancy environment.
What you’ll do
As a Senior Design Manager, you’ll lead multidisciplinary teams through complex project environments, coordinating architects, engineers, subconsultants and stakeholders to deliver integrated, high-quality outcomes from planning through to completion.
You’ll play a key role in solving complex coordination challenges, driving delivery outcomes, and helping shape how major projects are delivered across our growing portfolio. In this role, you will:
- Lead multidisciplinary design delivery across buildings and defence-related projects
- Coordinate architects, engineering disciplines and specialist subconsultants to achieve integrated project outcomes
- Drive design coordination, technical reviews and quality assurance processes
- Manage project interfaces, risks and delivery priorities across complex stakeholder environments
- Conduct site investigations, assessments and project coordination activities
- Collaborate with clients and internal stakeholders to manage project interfaces and delivery outcomes
- Support planning, programme management and delivery strategies across the SAVI PDS portfolio
- Build strong relationships with clients, project teams and delivery partners
- Contribute to the growth and capability of Aurecon’s Delivery Management team
What you’ll bring
You’re someone who enjoys solving problems, bringing teams together, and creating clarity within complex project environments.
You may come from engineering, architecture, consulting, contractor or integrated project delivery backgrounds, what matters most is your ability to lead coordination, influence outcomes and drive delivery.
We’re particularly interested in people who bring:
- Experience leading multidisciplinary project teams across complex buildings or infrastructure projects
- Strong communication and stakeholder management capability
- Design coordination, delivery management or project leadership experience
- Commercial awareness and ability to balance competing priorities
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset
- A desire to grow within a collaborative, high-performing team environment
Defence project experience is highly regarded but not essential. Eligibility for baseline security clearance is required.
Why join Aurecon?
The projects are complex. The expectations are high. The opportunities are real.
You’ll join a team working across some of Australia’s most technically challenging and operationally critical projects, with the support of a business recognised by the AFR as a Best Place to Work in 2026.
We invest heavily in our people and believe careers should grow alongside capability, curiosity and ambition. Whether your pathway leads toward major project leadership, strategic delivery or infrastructure advisory, you’ll be surrounded by people who want to help you succeed.
With a strong and growing pipeline of defence, mission-critical infrastructure and major buildings projects, this is an opportunity to build your career – not just fill a role.
