Your role at a glance

This role is responsible for end‑to‑end execution of Building Management System / Safety & security system works across project phases design review, installation, integration, testing, commissioning, handover & necessary documentation, vendor coordination, on site coordination. The role ensures that all BMS‑related / Safety & Security activities meet project specifications, quality standards, timelines, and compliance requirements. This position works closely with MEP teams, OEMs, system integrators, Safety Team and operations teams to deliver a fully functional and optimized automation system in mission-critical, high risk, or high-reliability data center environments.

What we are looking for

Key Responsibilities:

Review project scope, BOQ, drawings, and technical specifications. Prepare execution schedule plans, tracking of schedules, coordination with vendor on site execution activity and day to day updates, reports submission.

Oversee installation of controllers, sensors, field devices, panels, and network cabling. Ensure installation quality as per approved drawings and standards. Validate field wiring, device mounting, and network topology.

Integrate HVAC, electrical, fire, plumbing, DG, UPS, Transformer, HT & LT panels and energy meters into the BMS. Configure BACnet/Modbus communication, device addressing, and network mapping, Fire alarm system & security System.

Prepare and execute FAT, SAT, I/O checks, and functional testing. Validate sequences of operation (SOO) for all equipment. Ensure system performance meets design intent and operational requirements.

Maintain updated drawings, redlines, test reports, and commissioning documents. Ensure compliance with safety, statutory, and project QA/QC standards. Support audits and inspections by consultants and clients.

Coordinate with OEMs, system integrators, and subcontractors for timely execution. Track deliverables, resolve technical issues, and ensure closure of punch points. Participate in progress meetings and provide status updates.

Coordinate for O&M manuals, as‑built documentation, and training materials. Conduct training sessions for operations teams. Ensure smooth transition from project to operations.

Monitoring and troubleshooting systems as problems arise.

Coordinates with Vendors, consultant and Project management team resolution on time.

Assist in scheduling and supervising vendors/subcontractors during equipment / systems Execution.

Provides recommendation of improvements to the Execution program on an on-going basis.

Coordination with safety team, vendor safety partners to ensure Zero harm on site during execution.
Knowledge and Attributes:

In-depth understanding of HVAC, lighting, security, and energy management systems. Proficiency in DDC (Direct Digital Control) controller programming, and integration of third-party devices.

Expert knowledge of access control systems, CCTV/video surveillance, and fire alarm systems. Familiarity with life-safety protocols, including smoke control, ventilation, and pressurization, as per NFPA or local standards.

Solid knowledge of protocols like BACnet, Modbus, and Ethernet-based systems to integrate components.

Working knowledge of local building safety codes.

Ability to analyse energy consumption data and system performance logs to identify trends and optimize efficiency.

Investigate security breaches, accidents, and false alarms, and implement corrective actions.

Coordinate with contractors, oversee security infrastructure upgrades, and manage security projects, including penetration testing and vulnerability assessments.

Ability to identify complex system failures (e.g., HVAC failure, fire alarm fault) and implement prompt, effective solutions.

Strong leadership skills to manage a diverse team of security personnel and technical technicians.

Excellent communication skills to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders, and to work effectively with team members.

Ability to remain calm and decisive during emergencies or high-stress situations.

Academic Qualifications and Certifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in engineering or related field

Trade Certification or state license in BMS

Professional affiliations (Data Center Pulse)

Experience required:

Minimum 10-12 years of experience

Seasoned experience working in a similar engineering role, preferably a data center environment.

Seasoned experience in BMS / Safety & Security system, or other technical engineering and Execution fields Seasoned experience interpreting blueprints/CAD drawings.

Seasoned experience interpreting blueprints/CAD drawings.

Seasoned experience in facilities / building Project Execution

Seasoned experience in planning, installing and / or Execution of BMS / Safety & security system and other infrastructure systems in mission-critical, high-risk, or high-reliability environments such as data centers or utilities infrastructure.
