Job Summary
The Physician Services Clerk provides quality customer service to patients and performs those functions delegated and assigned by the Office Manager
What We’re Looking For
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Excellent customer service skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, problem-solve, and handle stress in a positive manner
How you’ll contribute
Carry out front office activities in a kind and courteous manner and is helpful to customers and their families
Notify office manager of customer complaints in a timely manner
Gather appropriate demographic information on each customer and update the practice management system
Notify customers of long waits and offers alternatives
Ensure effective telephone communication and documents messages
Coordinate all EMR/medical record activities
Collect and post payments and ensure safety and security of all monies
Schedule patients and coordinates appointment scheduler activities to facilitate efficient patient flow
Perform insurance eligibility verification and obtains prior authorization as needed
Research patient ledger in effort to educate patient on balances due and collect payment for services rendered
Perform appointment confirmation telephone calls
Complete required in-services
Participate in the development and implementation of patient satisfaction improvements
Make referrals to other medical care team members when needed
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required, Associate’s degree or high preferred
Knowledge and experience with computers, coding, and medical terminology preferred
Schedule:
Day - Part Time
