Job Description
Position Summary
We are seeking a detail oriented and creative person to support the Roski School’s Communications Department with content development, scheduling, and organizational efforts. This part-time resource role is ideal for someone who is highly organized, comfortable working within Google Workspace, and experienced in managing digital content across email and social platforms. The ideal candidate has strong writing skills, an eye for concise messaging, and an interest in the arts.
Key Responsibilities
- Create, edit, and manage documents, spreadsheets, and shared assets using Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive)
- Draft and curate short-form copy for social media, newsletters, and other related communications
- Collaboratively curate and schedule email campaigns using Constant Contact
- Assist in curating, scheduling, and publishing content on Instagram
- Curate and publish event listings across various online platforms and calendars
- Compile information, data, and resources to support organizational initiatives
- Organize and maintain content calendars and cross check timelines
- Assist in gathering and synthesizing data for reports, outreach, and storytelling purposes
- Collaborate with team members to ensure consistency across communication channels

- Manage and compile content for email campaigns using platforms such as Mailchimp or Constant Contact

- Conduct research and compile information, data, and resources to support organizational initiatives
- Organize and maintain content calendars and communication timelines
- Assist in gathering and synthesizing data for reports, outreach, and storytelling purposes
- Collaborate with Communications Manager to ensure consistency across communication channels
Qualifications
- Experience working with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive)
- Familiarity with email marketing platforms such as Mailchimp or Constant Contact
- Strong writing and editing skills, particularly for short-form content
- Experience managing or contributing to social media accounts (especially Instagram)
- Ability to organize, compile, and present information clearly
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a part-time capacity
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience or familiarity with the arts, creative industries, or cultural organizations
- Experience with Slack
- Experience managing website content, particularly with WordPress or similar CMS platforms
- Experience with content planning tools or social media scheduling platforms
- Experience or familiarity with the arts, creative industries, or cultural organizations
- Basic understanding of branding, tone, and audience engagement
- Experience with content planning tools or social media scheduling platforms
- Experience with project management software such as Monday, Click Up, Basecamp, etc.

The hiring range for this position is $25-$28.00. When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope of responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, federal, state, and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations.
