Surepoint is currently seeking experienced Journeymen for a Lead/Foreman role building an Electric RIG at our Nisku branch. This Rig will be going to Australia and will require different code.
The candidate must have a continual focus on safety, cost control and client satisfaction when performing the duties of this position. The candidate must also have excellent attention to detail to meet and exceed client needs and expectations, as well as the ability to perform duties in a professional and courteous manner. The candidate must be able to meet the physical demands of the job and exercise initiative and good judgment with the ability to multi-task. Must be willing to travel for work and be able to work extended shift structures.
Qualifications and Responsibilities:
Journeyman Electrician Certificate
Enforce safety policies and practices, conduct regular safety meetings, and ensure PPE is used properly
Plan and layout electrical work based on blueprints, drawings, and specifications
Supervise and lead a team of electricians and apprentices
Ensure all electrical installations comply with Australian codes, safety regulations, and quality standards
Monitor productivity and quality of work performed by crew members
Maintain accurate records of materials used, labor hours, and progress updates
Troubleshoot electrical systems and resolve issues as they arise.
Assist in estimating labor and material costs for upcoming work
Train and mentor less experienced electricians
Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other trades to ensure project timelines and objectives are met
Proficient in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
Computer proficiency in Excel and Bluebeam Revu considered an asset
Ability to work away from home
Must be able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb ladders for extended periods
Lift and carry up to 50 pounds
Minimum of 10 years Rig experience
Minimum of 5 years running jobs
