Job Summary:
The Inventory Analyst (IA) is responsible for driving operational excellence across inventory management, replenishment, and category execution. Ultimately, this role ensures BJ’s delivers the right amount of product to the right club, at the right time, in order to deliver an excellent Member experience. The IA will engage in proactive KPI monitoring, root cause analysis, vendor collaboration, and cross-functional alignment with BJ’s stakeholders to ensure business goals are achieved. The position requires technical aptitude, problem-solving capabilities and the ability to support category transitions, inventory flow, and projects.
Essential Functions:
- Monitor KPIs including in-stock performance, inventory levels, salvage rates, and replenishment parameters. Conduct root cause analysis for at-risk or under-target metrics and develop action plans with leadership and peer support.
- Review Club inventory levels and sales forecasts within assigned Merchandise Categories to ensure Clubs are allocated the right amount of inventory to maintain targeted in stock goals. Suggest DC/club transfers when needed.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Planners, Merchants, and CSC2 to optimize inventory allocation and category execution.
- Serve as vendor replenishment contact. Monitor performance and collaborate with vendor partners to ensure that purchase orders are fulfilled completely and delivered on time.
- Purchase, track, manage, and allocate product purchase orders (POs) where applicable (e.g., Ultra Fresh).
- Coordinate category transitions and manage the item lifecycle including discontinuations.
- Monitor and address poor performance trends, escalating risks to leadership and functional partners with recommended solutions.
- Lead holiday inventory and vendor alignment strategies to support seasonal sales and service goals, where applicable
- Plan and manage system parameters to navigate shutdowns, holiday schedules, and operational impacts.
- Demonstrate working knowledge in SAP, Blue Yonder Demand Edge, and Blue Yonder Fulfillment to manage demand forecasting and replenishment parameters.
Candidates for this role should possess the below qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business, or related field preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in inventory management, replenishment, or category operations.
- Analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable business decisions.
- Working knowledge of math concepts, applications, and analysis.
- Excel skills, including formulas, V-lookups, and Pivot Tables.
- Detail-oriented, with excellent follow-through and problem-solving skills.
- Able to organize and prioritize workload to meet deadlines.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Flexible and adaptive to changing priorities.
In accordance with the Pay Transparency requirements, the following represents a good faith estimate of the compensation range for this position. At BJ’s Wholesale Club, we carefully consider a wide range of non-discriminatory factors when determining salary. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, education, experience, and qualifications. The pay range for this position is $58,000 - $74,000.
This is a hybrid role. Tuesday through Thursday are in-office days at BJ's Club Support Center in Marlborough, MA and Monday and Friday are remote days.
