Employment Status: 12-month, full-time

 

Position Summary

Saint Ignatius College Prep seeks a Digital Content Specialist to support and advance the school's communications initiatives. This full-time role is an integral member of the Communications Department, responsible for creating, managing, and distributing digital content that promotes the school's mission, programs, and community. The Digital Content Specialist plays a key role in shaping and sharing the Saint Ignatius story across digital platforms through strategic storytelling, community engagement, and brand stewardship. This position collaborates closely with stakeholders throughout the school to elevate the voices of students, faculty, alumni, and parents while ensuring consistency in messaging and visual identity.

 

Key Responsibilities

Content Creation

  • Create compelling visual and written content, including photography, videography, graphics, website stories, and email communications aligned with institutional messaging and brand standards.
  • Develop and manage a library of visual assets, including photography, video, and design resources.
  • Cultivate relationships across the school community to identify and develop meaningful stories and content opportunities.
  • Partner with the Director of Communications to develop and execute a strategic content plan.
  • Coordinate and manage external photographers, videographers, and creative vendors as needed.

Social Media Management

  • Collaborate with the Director of Communications to develop and implement a long-term social media strategy.
  • Manage all institutional social media platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
  • Maintain a comprehensive content calendar aligned with school priorities and events.
  • Create, publish, and monitor engaging content that highlights school programs, events, and community life.
  • Analyze social media performance metrics and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.

Email Communications

  • Manage the school's email communication platform and constituent email lists.
  • Design and distribute effective email campaigns, newsletters, and announcements.
  • Maintain contact databases and oversee data hygiene practices.
  • Monitor email performance metrics and provide reporting on engagement and effectiveness.

Website Management

  • Maintain and update website content, including news stories, event information, photos, videos, and other digital assets.
  • Ensure website content remains accurate, relevant, and aligned with strategic priorities.
  • Monitor website analytics and performance indicators and recommend improvements.

General Responsibilities

  • Support cross-functional communications initiatives across departments.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Stay current with emerging digital communication trends, technologies, and best practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

     

Scope and Impact

The Digital Content Specialist has a significant impact on the school's public image, brand awareness, and community engagement. This position exercises independent judgment in content creation, editorial planning, and digital communications execution while collaborating closely with the Director of Communications. The role influences how the school's mission, programs, and achievements are communicated to internal and external audiences and contributes to enrollment, advancement, and community-building efforts.

 

Qualifications

Qualifications � Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Digital Media, Journalism, or a related field.
  • One to five years of professional experience in communications, digital marketing, content creation, or related fields.
  • Demonstrated experience creating digital content, including photography, videography, graphic design, and social media content.
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing principles, including SEO, social media, email marketing, and content strategy.
  • Proficiency with Canva, Google Workspace, and social media management platforms.
  • Experience working with content management systems (CMS).

Qualifications � Preferred

  • Experience working in an educational, nonprofit, or mission-driven organization.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Experience with Blackbaud or similar constituent relationship management systems.
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted content development tools and technologies.

  • Exceptional written, editing, and proofreading skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong photography and videography skills.
  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret and utilize performance metrics.
  • Knowledge of branding, digital storytelling, and audience engagement strategies.
  • High level of professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment when handling sensitive information.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as a member of a team.

     

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Primarily office-based with regular movement throughout campus to attend events, meetings, and activities.
  • Frequent use of computers, cameras, mobile devices, and audiovisual equipment.
  • Evening and weekend work may be required to support school events and activities.
  • Ability to lift and transport photography and video equipment up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout campus for extended periods during events and content-gathering activities.

 

Compensation and Schedule

  • Salary Range: $45,000 - $55,000
  • Full-time, exempt position
  • Standard schedule of 40 hours per week, with occasional evening and weekend responsibilities to support school events and communications needs.
  • Not eligible for overtime compensation.
