Summary:

The filling and Gas House Operator position is primarily responsible for the cleanliness, operation, and maintenance of all gashouses and filling machine tools and equipment. The gas house/filling operator will adhere to all safety rules and regulations pertaining to the gas house and will report all issues concerning safety to the Safety and Maintenance Manager.

Essential Duties:

  • Set up, operate, monitor, and control intermediate high-speed filling and packaging machines.
  • Set up and operate the gas house while adhering to all safety rules and regulations pertaining to the gas house, and report all issues.
  • Concerning safety to the Safety Manager.
  • Identify product quality defects caused in the gas house and filling room, and initiate corrective action.
  • Perform inspections on changed parts to ensure they are operational, clean, and burr-free
  • Conduct all gashouse changeovers.
  • Identify, analyze, and correct gas house production rate barriers.
  • Troubleshoot extended downtime issues in the gas house and filling room.
  • Assist Line Mechanics with line repairs if needed.
  • Perform all scheduled preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance, as necessary.
  • Perform daily gashouse inspections for cleanliness, cGMP's, and operational readiness.
  • Adjust machines as needed for setup, breakdown, or changeover.
  • Follow instructions on job tickets to perform duties.
  • Checked and documented the quality and non-conformity of products throughout the production cycle.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of equipment and the assigned area.
  • Maintain and complete recordkeeping requirements.
  • Replenished supplies using material handling equipment.
  • Follow all Company safety procedures and good housekeeping practices.
  • Act in accordance with all company policies and procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 6+ months of related experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must be certified to operate a forklift when applicable.
  • Must be certified to operate a clamp truck when applicable.

  •  Analytical approach to problem solving.
  • Good understanding of mechanical systems.
  • Basic understanding of HMI (Human Machine Interface)
  •  Good understanding of hydraulic/pneumatic systems.
  •  Basic understanding of electronic controls

OTHER COMPETENCIES / SPECIFICATIONS

  • Must be able to read, write, and communicate verbally, with good organizational skills required.
  • Ability to make mechanical adjustments to machines using basic hand tools.
  • Must be Competent and Attentive
  •  Effective organizational and task prioritization skills
  •  Ability to read, write, and speak English competently.
  • Customer focused; Must be flexible in dealing with others in the organization, and with work assignments/projects •
  • Must be capable of both creative thought and deductive reasoning.
  •  Self-organized, self-motivated; Ability to work independently of supervision.
  •  Ability to stand for extended periods of time and move as needed to perform job duties for the length of the shift.
