Pay: $26.43 per hour

Job responsibilities: The gang intelligence officer is responsible for the investigative work, identification, and validation of gang members, and conducts detainee investigations. Provides instruction to staff on report writing, crime scene and evidence preservation, gang identification, monitoring of potentially disruptive detainees, and the narcotics prevention program.
Essential functions:
- Coordinate with staff on the receipt and analysis of gang information.
- Monitor detainee files for investigative purposes.
- Compile and analyze data to prepare reports and maintain related records.
- Respond to emergencies and institution disturbances.
- Supervise and conduct in-depth investigations of incidents which involve criminal activity within the facility.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two (2) years’ experience in an adult correctional environment or related field required. One (1) year prior investigation experience desired.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Prior supervisory experience preferred.
- Knowledge of computer software applications, narcotics and narcotic paraphernalia, report writing, and gang related information preferred.
- Fluency with speaking, understanding, interpreting, and reading the Spanish language required. Must successfully complete required preservice training.
- Valid driver’s license in the state of Texas with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management.
