CORE JOB FUNCTIONS
Serve as the primary communications representative for Miami Hurricanes Volleyball, Men’s & Women’s Tennis, consisting of writing recaps and releases, serving as media liaison to local and national media, managing statistics, records and archives, overseeing press operations at home games, submitting award nominations, editing publications, updating official website, creating content for social media distribution and managing social media channels. Serve as the secondary communications representative for Miami Hurricanes Men’s Basketball, consisting of media relations duties that include interviews, press releases, printed materials, gameday operations, social media management and general management of football public relations strategy in tandem with the Associate AD / Communications. May manage the credential process for Miami Hurricanes ticketed sports, including communicating with local and national media, facilitating the distribution of season and single-game credentials and parking and overseeing press box operations on gameday. Responsible for maintaining compliance with NCAA, Atlantic Coast Conference, institutional and departmental rules. Establishes and continuously assesses the effectiveness of the internal controls within the unit and compliance with University policies and procedures. Ensures employees are trained on controls within the function and on University policy and procedures. All other duties as assigned by the Associate Athletic Director for Communications.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field
Experience:
2-3 years of experience in Athletics, Public Relations, Digital Media and/or related field.
Ability to travel and work nights and weekends when required.
Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:
·Ability to work independently, set priorities and think critically.
- Strong writing skills, including knowledge of AP Style.
- Familiarity with social media platforms. content management platforms, desktop publishing software, photography, graphic design software and statistical programs.
- Strong attention to detail and multi-task orientated.
- Exceptional interpersonal, presentation and communication skills.
