Job Description
GENERAL FUNCTION:
Aggressively and creatively looks for ways to meet and exceed sales goals by developing new banking relationships, with the focus on growing core deposit customers along with consumer, real estate and small business loans. Achieve maximum sales profitability and growth by marketing all company products and/or services.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Proactive in outside sales calls.
- Generates new business by conducting business development calls on existing customers and prospective customers in order to meet or exceed established sales goals.
- Focus will be on gaining new banking relationships and growing core deposit customers along with consumer, real estate and small business loans.
- Cross-sell the bank's suite of financial services and products. Identify and refer opportunities for business partners including – Commercial Lenders; Treasury Management; Financial Services; and Secondary Market Mortgages.
- Develop referral sources through Centers of Influence.
- Maintain an active role in community and civic affairs.
- Works closely with the Branch Sales Managers in the markets served to grow and manage the branch loan portfolio.
- Works closely with the Retail Manager; Regional President and Marketing Department to develop strategies for continued customer growth opportunities and name recognition.
- Interviews loan applicants, analyzes financial information and makes appropriate loan decisions.
- Identifies non-conforming credits which need additional approval or assistance.
- Abides by specified lending authority as dictated by the loan policy and procedures. Presents loan requests above lending authority to loan committee for approval.
- Manages and develops small business, consumer and residential loan accounts, which meet the established lending requirements while maximizing profitability and minimizing risk to the bank.
- Products and services gained through business development will be opened by a team member at the appropriate branch in the market served and tracked through referral responsibility code.
- May submit loan application and prepare loan documents in absence of Branch Sales Manager.
- Loan documentation exceptions must be cleared in a timely manner.
- Assist with construction inspections and in-house evaluations.
- Assist with managing the branch budget while maximizing profits and minimizing expenses.
- May serve in a role as Branch Sales Manager on an interim basis as needed.
- Performs all other duties as assigned by supervisor.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college with a concentration in accounting /finance preferred, or equivalent related experience.
- Eight to ten years bank branch management experience, along with consumer and real estate lending, and business development experience.
- Strong personal leadership skills, organizational skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to analyze and summarize complex financial information and present recommendations for appropriate courses of action.
- Strong business development, customer relations, and decision-making skills are essential. Must possess strong relationship building skills to ensure the achievement of the bank's key strategic initiatives.
- Presents a professional image in dealing with customers, potential customers and others.
- Ability to travel to various locations to meet with customers, potential customers and others.
