Business Title: Senior Finance Manager, SCIEX China Finance

Reports to: Finance Director

Work Location: Shanghai, China

Position Summary

The Senior Finance Manager will play a critical role in driving financial governance, optimizing working capital, and enhancing process efficiency across SCIEX China. This role is responsible for leading revenue recognition compliance, strengthening credit and collection discipline, and improving end-to-end financial processes to support sustainable growth and cash flow performance.

This position partners closely with Commercial, Service, and Global Finance teams to ensure accurate financial reporting, disciplined risk management, and continuous process improvement aligned with SCIEX and Danaher standards.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

1. Revenue Quality, Recognition & Credit Risk Management

  • Ensure accurate and timely revenue recognition in compliance with US GAAP and company policies
  • Provide technical accounting guidance on complex commercial arrangements (e.g., multi-element contracts, cross-opco transactions)
  • Partner with Commercial and Legal teams to structure contracts with clear revenue and risk implications
  • Lead month-end close activities related to revenue, including reconciliations, analytics, and reporting
  • Own end-to-end order-to-cash risk management, including credit assessment, credit limit setting, and payment term governance
  • Monitor AR aging, identify risks proactively, and drive collection strategies with Commercial teams
  • Lead resolution of overdue balances, disputes, and escalations to minimize bad debt exposure
  • Strengthen internal controls across revenue and credit processes to ensure compliance and audit readiness

2. Working Capital, OPEX & Financial Forecasting

  • Lead working capital management across AR, inventory, contract assets, and demo/consignment inventory
  • Own rolling forecasts for working capital, cash flow, and OPEX, ensuring alignment with business outlook
  • Manage OPEX budget and forecast, driving discipline and accountability across functions
  • Analyze variances and provide actionable insights to improve performance
  • Optimize cash conversion through billing, collection, and cost structure improvements
  • Track key KPIs (DSO, cash conversion cycle, inventory turns, OPEX variance) and drive actions

3. Process Improvement, Demo/Consignment Governance & Controls

  • Lead end-to-end finance process improvement and digitalization initiatives to enhance efficiency and scalability
  • Establish and govern processes for demo equipment and consignment inventory, including deployment, tracking, aging, conversion, and return
  • Partner with Commercial to optimize deployment and return processes
  • Identify and implement automation opportunities across billing, collections, forecasting, and reporting
  • Drive standardization and best practice sharing across China and global teams
  • Mitigate risks related to asset management, revenue delays, and financial misstatement

4. Business Partnering & Leadership

  • Act as a trusted finance partner to Commercial and Service leaders on revenue quality, working capital, cost management, and cash flow topics
  • Support strategic initiatives by providing financial insights and risk assessments
  • Collaborate with regional and global stakeholders to align on policies, reporting, and initiative
  • Lead finance process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability
  • Identify automation opportunities and support digital tool implementation (e.g., billing, collections, reporting)
  • Support leadership with ad hoc analysis and strategic priorities
  • Ad Hoc assignments arranged by Finance Director.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; CPA/ACCA preferred
  • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in US GAAP (ASC 606 preferred)
  • Experience supporting complex commercial arrangements and contract structuring
  • Exposure to finance transformation, process improvement, or digital/automation initiatives preferred
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to translate data into business insights
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with ability to influence cross-functional teams
  • Fluent in English and Mandarin
