Job Summary
The Inprocessing Support Technician supports core inprocessing operations by performing hands-on material handling and transformer preparation activities. This role is responsible for safely moving units through designated conveyor areas, supporting unloading activities, and assisting with basic transformer processing tasks. The position requires close coordination with Inprocessing Leads and Supervisors to maintain workflow efficiency, safety, and quality standards. The technician is expected to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, industrial environment while adhering to all safety and operating procedures.
Key Responsibilities

- Push transformer units up and down conveyors to designated areas as directed.
- Off-load internal and external trucks in accordance with department direction and safety requirements.
- Open transformers for processing and close units once processing steps are completed.
- Move completed or staged units to assigned locations within the facility.
- Pump transformers after preliminary testing has been completed and units are properly marked.
- Perform integrity testing when required.
- Operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and hand or pneumatic tools as needed.
- Maintain responsibility for shop equipment and tools used during daily operations.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work area at all times.
- Work effectively in a team-oriented environment requiring close interaction with other associates.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the Lead, Supervisor, or Management.
Minimum Requirements
Education / Certifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience
- Previous manufacturing or industrial experience preferred but not required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend written instructions.
- Basic arithmetic skills.
- Ability to use basic hand tools, gauges, and test equipment.
- Ability to perform all assigned departmental tasks safely and effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Ability to follow safety procedures and standard operating instructions.
- Physical ability to perform medium work, including exerting up to 50 lbs occasionally and over 20 lbs frequently.
- Ability to work in varied environmental conditions, including exposure to heat, cold, oils, and industrial hazards, while wearing required personal protective equipment.
