Job description:
Overall Job Purpose
The Data Engineer is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining reliable and scalable data pipelines and platforms that support reporting, analytics, and operational decision-making. This role focuses on implementing robust data solutions that integrate data from multiple sources, while ensuring data quality, consistency, and accessibility.
The position involves hands-on development of ETL processes, data models, and pipelines, working closely with platform, analytics, and business teams to deliver clean, structured, and timely data.
Specific Job Responsibility
- Design, build, and maintain end to end data pipelines for ingesting, transforming, and delivering data
- Design and implement scalable, secure, and high-performance data pipelines (batch and real-time)
- Ensure seamless integration across IT, OT, and analytics platforms
- Ensure high availability, reliability, and performance of data platforms
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver data solutions aligned to business needs
- Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions
Keep abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to recommend innovative solutions for business improvement.
Job Specific Competencies
- Strong analytical skills and ability to analyse complex data sets and assist drive data-influenced decisions.
- High level proficiency in Python and SQL
- Experience with cloud-native services and platforms (e.g. Databricks, Snowflake, Synapse, BigQuery)

Experience & Qualifications
- Minimum 4–7 years of experience in data engineering, distributed systems, or data platform operations
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain data pipelines in production environments.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
