Research Scientist - Comparative Biosciences

Duties & Responsibilities Conduct research on the effects of endocrine disrupting chemicals on the female reproductive system in mice, including animal handling, dosing, tissue collection, histological evaluation, gene expression assays, protein assays, and hormone assays Conduct research on the effects of endocrine disrupting chemicals on the ovary, including ovarian and antral follicle isolation, culture of ovarian cells and antral follicles, gene expression assays, protein assays, and hormone assays Prepare scientific manuscripts for publication and presentations of research findings at conferences Supervise operation of lab equipment Order lab supplies Maintain lab protocols and safety standards Use appropriate software to statistically evaluate data Train undergraduate, graduate, and postdoctoral trainees on lab methods and protocols Assist the research coordinator with experiments and lab upkeep
