We are seeking a detail-oriented and deadline driven Property Accountant to join our Property Accounting team. This role is responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger, supporting the month-end close process and collaborating with other teams within the Accounting Department to ensure timely delivery of financial reports.
The ideal candidate thrives in a high volume, fast-paced environment, demonstrates strong organizational skills, and wants to learn multiple aspects of the single-family residential business while contributing to process improvements and operational efficiency.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare high-volume journal entries, complete bank reconciliations across multiple accounts, and maintain balance sheet account reconciliations.
- Review the balance sheets and income statements to ensure accuracy.
- Support and meet month-end close deadlines are met.
- Review financial results and provide analysis and insight.
- Assist with recurring and ad hoc analyses of financial results, including trends, performance metrics, and benchmarks to understand operating results.
- Assist with internal and external audit requests, including SOX compliance and internal controls documentation.
- Participate in Company-provided training to increase knowledge of single-family residential business.
Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field is required.
- 1+ years of experience in accounting and financial statement preparation is preferred.
- Intermediate knowledge of Excel functionality is required.
- Yardi experience a plus.

- Must maintain professional appearance.
- Ability to be at work on a regular and consistent basis; Overtime may be required for this position.
Physical and Mental Demands
This position will spend long hours sitting and using office equipment and computers. The position may also entail light lifting of supplies and materials occasionally, up to and including 20 pounds in addition to reaching, stooping, standing, and walking. This position requires the ability to talk, hear, compare, compute, compile, copy, analyze, coordinate, synthesize, negotiate, and communicate. Salary Range
The salary range for this position is: $57,862.50 - $100,295.00, plus individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. Actual compensation within the range will be dependent upon the individual's skills, experience, qualifications, location, and applicable employment laws.Compensation and Benefits
