Temporary Patient Service Associate (6 months)

Job Description

To provide and implement patient services in doctors’ consultation, financial counselling and patient appointments. To implement service assistance to patients in the Specialist Outpatient Clinics which primarily includes (but is not limited to) registration appointment making, billing and payment and other administrative and counter duties. To ensure patients’ information is kept up-to-date and compliance with Personal Date Protection Act (PDPA).
 
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
(A) SPECIFIC

  1. Assist in ensuring clinic readiness to receive patients and visitors by maintaining adequate inventory levels and checking that equipment is clean and functional.
  2. Perform room assisting duties which includes but not limited to:
    • Retrieve and return patient’s record before and after appointment.
    • Chaperone doctors and provide language translation during consultation.
    • Prepare and assist doctor for physical examination, minor procedures, or surgical procedures relevant to the clinical needs of patients 
    • Perform basic patient care services such as taking height and weight, vital signs, and record in EMR.
    • Collection of specimens
    • Financial counselling with procedural counselling
    • Schedule patients for surgery and endoscopy procedures
  3. Ensure compliance to hospital policies and standard work processes.
  4. Attend to patient and staff enquiries on clinic services, appointments, and billing matters.
  5. Support accurate billing of clinic services by ensuring required information is entered correctly and promptly.
  6. Maintain a high standard of service delivery through clear and effective communication. To assist in managing and responding to feedback from patients and stakeholders.
  7. Support the coordination and communication of patient appointments when scheduling changes are required.
  8. Assist to monitor and manage clinic appointments, scheduling and patient requests in Electronic Medical Records System.

 
(B) GENERAL

  1. To work closely with other hospital departments to ensure implementation of hospital policies and procedures
  2. Participate in implementation of improvements to enhance the quality of care and unit work processes.
  3. Assist in n data collection or feedback related to new work processes and communicate outcomes to the supervisor.
  4. Participate in ongoing education and training to maintain professional competency.
  5. Cross-departmental support to assist other departments as and when required.
  6. Perform other duties as assigned by the Reporting Officer.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

  1. Minimum qualification: GCE “N” Level, ITE NITEC, ITE Higher Nitec, or Diploma
  2. Demonstrates a positive attitude, initiative, and willingness to learn
  3. Possesses good interpersonal and communication skills
  4. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  5. Relevant healthcare or clinic experience will be an advantage
