The Hong Kong Jockey Club
Founded in 1884, The Hong Kong Jockey Club (“the Club”) is a world-class racing club that acts continuously for the betterment of our society. The Club has a unique integrated business model, comprising racing and racecourse entertainment, a membership club, responsible sports wagering and lottery, and charities and community contribution. Through this model, the Club generates economic and social value for the community and supports the HKSAR Government in combatting illegal gambling.
The Division
The Racing Division is committed to managing all aspects of Hong Kong’s world-class sport of horse racing, covering the full value chain — from importation and training to racedays, equestrian, welfare, integrity, and international engagement. With Conghua Racecourse and Greater Bay Area expansion, we’re shaping racing into a dynamic sporting, social, and entertainment experience.
Training Programme
A 12-week induction training course followed by 4 weeks of practicum. The programme covers stable management, horse care, workplace safety, English language, physical training, and other supporting courses. Training will be conducted at Sha Tin Racecourse.
Appointment
Trainees who successfully complete the professional training programme, pass all subjects, and demonstrate good conduct will be assigned to work in stables to develop their skills. This provides an excellent opportunity to build a career in the horse racing industry and pursue the dream of working closely with horses.
Work Location and Hours
- Sha Tin Racecourse (work location may vary depending on operational needs)
- 48 working hours per week; required to work during race days and public holidays
Entry Requirement
- Positive, proactive, focused, and hardworking
- Not afraid of horses, with a strong passion for them and keen interest in the horse racing industry
- At least 1 year of work experience
- Form 3 education or above
