Job Summary:
A banquet houseperson is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of any banquet rooms, meeting rooms, storage, and service areas.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Set up banquet rooms according to the provided specifications.
- Reset the room to its original state after the event has concluded.
- Assist servers during the event.
- Transport tables and equipment.
- Report maintenance issues to management.
- Provide requested information to banquet patrons.
- Assist in assembling podiums and other structures.
- Relay information to outside departments.
- Assist audio/visual personnel in setting up equipment.
- Transporting food, beverages, decorations, and equipment.
- Immediately report any safety hazards, injuries, maintenance problems or accidents.
- Takes found items to designated lost and found area.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Detail-oriented and thorough.
- Ability to perform consistent work to the highest of standards.
- Ability to interact with guests in a pleasant, friendly way.
Education and Experience:
- Sufficient education and literacy are needed to identify and read product labels and to communicate with guests about job-related needs.
- Ability to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in basic English preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods standing and walking and frequently pulling, pushing, and bending.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
