Title: Internal Life Sales Specialist

Department:  Sales

Objective: The Internal Sales Specialist is the primary touch point for our sales team; actively partnering with SPG Life and Annuity’s external wholesaler team, our clients, driving activity to meet sales goals.

An internal sales-specialist provides proactive and consultative support while coordinating administrative activity on sales leads, opportunities, case design and potential new business. Individuals demonstrate or develop an understanding of the life insurance industry, becoming an expert on products, carriers, competition, and the regulatory environment, deepening relationships with producers, prospects, and insurance carriers, providing education and advocacy on clients’ behalf to ensure we are doing the right thing for the end client. This position has a direct impact to a client’s financial security.

Job Functions:

  • Provide direction and sales support to various audiences including illustrations and sales concept design, product and procedure education, appropriate marketing materials.

  • Provide consultative recommendations and provide solutions for case design with a focus on the customers’ needs

  • Coordinate and actively participate in complex case design with your external wholesaler and our in-house Advanced Marketing Attorney.

  • Participate in prospect/client meetings or calls.

  • Coordinate client medical issues with our in-house risk appraisal team

  • Coordinate with all other internal departments to assist producer with unique client or case circumstances.

  • Respond to the client and producer inquiries in a timely and accurate fashion and provide frequent proactive updates as agreed.

  • Coordinate high value sales activities with external sales partner, track status and review results on a consistent basis.

  • Make product recommendations to producers by demonstrating a deep understanding of carrier products and the insurance industry. Stay current with product changes and competitive advantages.

  • Document all relevant sales activity in our CRM, review sales forecast and prospects with external wholesaler on a regular schedule.

  • Maintain various reference materials including but not limited to; product lists, core carriers, and insurance carrier key contacts.

  • Participate in various sales campaigns to enhance and grow revenue.

  • Attend SPG Life and Annuity client events

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position. Core hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm

Salary Transparency:

Disclosure required under applicable law in California, Colorado, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New York, New Jersey, and Washington states: The expected salary range for this position is $55,000-$65,000 with additional bonus opportunity based on the total revenue generated from their book of business. This total compensation will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate’s skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position’s business line, scope and level. HUB International is proud to offer comprehensive benefit and total compensation packages: health/dental/vision/life/disability insurance, FSA, HSA and 401(k) accounts, paid-time-off benefits such as vacation, sick, and personal days, and eligible bonuses, equity and commissions for some positions.
