What is the opportunity?
Global Manager Research supports investment manager research (mutual funds, separately managed accounts and private alternative investments) and discretionary model management across multiple RBC distribution channels representing over $650 billion in assets under advisement. The team exists to reduce investment risk by offering in-depth and high quality investment manager research to RBC WM clients.
The role of Global Manager Research Associate is to 1) assist analysts within the GMR Team in assembling and reviewing data, updating spreadsheets, and creating and publishing documents for use by various RBC entities in Canada, U.S., U.K., and Asia. 2) assist the quantitative analyst in developing quantitative tools and datasets to assist the GMR team in manager analysis and monitoring.
The Global Manager Research Associate is involved in meetings and discussions that influence over $650 billion in products across the globe.
What will you do?
Quantitative and Qualitative Analysis
- Gather research data and related content from a wide array of sources, including but not limited to third party issuers, third party databases, and other publicly available resources.
- Assist Analysts in the due diligence and analysis of investment management firms.
General Administration
- Assist Analysts in the preparation of internal and external facing research reports pertaining to the coverage of mutual funds, separately managed accounts and private alternative investments.
- Assist Analysts in the development and maintenance of tools and information sources for purposes of ongoing analysis and reporting of initiatives, projects, and usage data.
- Develop and maintain user-defined lists for purposes of generating targeted email communications.
- Maintain the quality, functionality, and usefulness of certain tools and communications provided for mutual funds, separately managed accounts, and alternative strategies via RBC’s internal intranet service.
Service
- Responsible for the accuracy and timely delivery of regular communications and scheduled / ad-hoc reports generated by Global Manager Research.
Project Management
- Complete specific and/or ad-hoc research projects and related tasks as directed by other senior members of Global Manager Research.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
- Undergraduate degree in business (with a preferred concentration in finance, accounting, economics, math or statistics) or at least four years of equivalent (analytical) work experience.
- Willingness to pursue CFA designation and other educational opportunities.
- Minimum of 1 year securities or financial markets experience with previous analytical experience
- Strong analytical / critical thinking / problem solving / organizational skills
- Strong interpersonal, written, an oral communication skills

Compensation for this position (including salary and discretionary/variable payments) will be determined by factors, including but not limited to candidate's experience, skills, registration status, performance, individual goals, market conditions, and business needs.
Pay Range
The expected pay range for this position is:
$55,000.00 - $90,000.00The pay range provided is for the primary work location referenced in the Additional Job Details section of this job posting. Pay ranges may differ based on location. If the posting lists multiple job locations, a recruiter can confirm availability of the role and the relevant pay rage for the additional locations listed.
