Special Instructions to Applicants Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without the need for visa sponsorship. The University will not sponsor applicants for work visas (e.g., H-1B). Job Summary Community college-level student workers will work directly with professional RHCJC staff and university-level students on a variety of journalism-associated tasks. Work includes conducting high level background research on issues, setting up and conducting interviews, reviewing web stories for accuracy and clarity, and assisting to create digital-exclusive content. Community college-level student workers will also learn technology used by the center such as video cameras and digital content management systems . Primary Duties and Responsibilities Gather, collect and verify information for stories through interviews, observation and research for dissemination across platforms. Capture appropriate sound, video, still photos and other data and information types for the professional production of a variety of news products that will be delivered across platforms. Works closely with professional staff and university-level students on creation of RHCJC related media and projects. Assist with duties within the Roy Howard Community Journalism Center as needed. Other duties as assigned by supervisors.
