Location: Bolingbrook, IL (Remote)
Status: Full-Time
Compensation: $50,000-$95,000/annual
Reports To: Director of Operations (with dotted-line to Controller)

Position Overview
We are seeking a Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst to lead the development, standardization, and automation of reporting across the organization. This role will serve as the central owner of reporting infrastructure, transforming raw data from ERP, CRM, and operational systems into actionable insights.
 
The BI Analyst will partner closely with Operations, Inventory Control, Finance, and Sales to improve visibility into business performance, with a primary focus on supporting Inventory Control and operational decision-making. This position plays a critical role in enabling KPI-driven management and reducing reliance on manual reporting processes.
 
The ideal candidate has strong SQL expertise, experience building reporting solutions within ERP systems, and the ability to translate business needs into scalable data models and dashboards.

Key Responsibilities
Reporting & Data Development (Primary Focus)
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize SQL-based reports from P21 ERP and related systems
  • Build and support Rubbertree Systems' WebQuery and Excel-based reporting tools for recurring analysis
  • Standardize reporting structures across sales, inventory, operations, and finance
  • Ensure consistent definitions and logic across all business reports

Inventory & Operations Analytics
  • Partner with Inventory Control to develop and enhance:
    • Inventory usage and velocity reporting
    • Inventory aging, slow-moving, and obsolete stock analysis
    • Safety stock, min/max, and replenishment models
    • Lead time and supplier performance reporting
  • Analyze inventory discrepancies and identify root causes
  • Provide actionable insights to improve inventory efficiency and availability

KPI Development & Dashboarding
  • Design and maintain KPI dashboards for leadership, including:
    • Inventory performance (turns, days on hand, fill rate)
    • Operational efficiency and order fulfillment metrics
    • Sales and margin performance
  • Support the Director of Operations in establishing and tracking core performance indicators
  • Deliver executive-ready reporting with clear insights and recommendations

Cross-Functional Reporting Support
  • Support Sales with reporting related to:
    • Customer performance and profitability
    • Product-level sales and margin analysis
  • Partner with Finance on:
    • Margin validation and reporting alignment
    • Data reconciliation between systems
  • Support Customer Experience with service-level and order accuracy reporting

Data Governance & System Integrity
  • Ensure data accuracy and consistency across ERP, CRM, and reporting layers
  • Establish and maintain standardized data structures, naming conventions, and hierarchies
  • Identify and resolve data integrity issues impacting reporting accuracy
  • Support master data management initiatives

Automation & Process Improvement
  • Replace manual reporting processes with automated WebQuery and scheduled reports
  • Partner with IT/ERP resources to improve system integrations and data flows
  • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows through data and reporting solutions
  • Reduce duplication and inefficiencies in reporting across departments

Qualifications
Required
  • Strong SQL skills with experience building and optimizing complex queries
  • Experience with ERP systems (preferably Epicor Prophet 21 or similar)
  • Advanced Excel skills, including data connection tools
  • Experience with Rubbertree Systems' WebQuery is helpful
  • Experience developing reports, dashboards, and data models
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively across technical and non-technical teams

Preferred
  • Experience in distribution, manufacturing, or supply chain environments
  • Familiarity with Salesforce or CRM reporting
  • Experience with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, or similar)
  • Understanding of inventory management concepts and KPIs
