Job Description
The Manager, Purchasing & Supplier Management oversees the procurement process and supplier relationships. He or she supervises the identification of needs with internal clients and leads negotiations until the signing of contractual agreements (identification of potential sources, development of calls for tenders, selection of suppliers, negotiation of contracts, renewal, etc.). He or she supports the Director of Strategic Procurement, the team responsible for operations within the supply chain and the business units.
- Supervise the analysis of the needs for the acquisition of goods and services with its internal clients and produce appropriate recommendations;
- Develop and manage the business relationship with suppliers and internal customers;
- Act as a point of contact for management, internal customers and supply chain business groups for its commodities;
- Define the direction and the best negotiation strategies within its commodities, in order to meet the needs of internal clients as adequately as possible and in order to generate cost reductions;
- Prepare tender documents, evaluate proposals received and negotiate prices, conditions for contracts and framework agreements for strategic projects;
- Develop and present recommendations arising from calls for tenders, negotiations and issues related to strategic projects;
- Participate in the management and follow-up with internal customers and suppliers during the implementation phase of major projects, as well as the commercial negotiation related to the various issues that may arise in the context of the projects;
- Collaborate with legal services to ensure the compliance of contractual documents;
- Administer contracts and agreements for strategic projects, ensure compliance with them and intervene in the event of deviations;
- Maintain the database and ensure the monitoring and renewal of futures contracts under its commodities;
- Define, evaluate and measure supplier performance;
- Develop knowledge of the market, its commodities and the various players in the industry;
- Participate in the development and continuous improvement of the company's processes;
- Participer aux revues stratégiques de ses commodités ainsi qu’à la planification stratégique annuelle.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in administration, procurement management or law;
- Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in negotiating and drafting supply contracts;
- Analytical skills, initiative and strong communication skills;
- Proficiency in the Windows environment and Excel, Word and PowerPoint software;
- Hold the Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) designation, an asset;
- Mastery of technological tools in procurement, an asset;
