
Construction Superintendent
Job Description
The Construction Superintendent will be responsible for overseeing all field operations for a large-scale, fast-track residential project from groundbreaking through TCO. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Day-to-day field supervision of all construction activities, including oversight of subcontractors and third-party vendors
- Maintain and drive the project schedule, proactively identifying and resolving issues before they impact the timeline
- Manage the project budget through expense control, approvals, and timely review of submittals and deliverables
- Serve as the primary field point of contact for inspectors, contractors, architects, engineers, and city and county officials
- Collaborate closely with internal Project Managers, Design Managers, and Development Managers to keep all project goals on track
- Review construction document packages for procurement and develop detailed scopes of work
- Manage the permitting process, coordinating with expeditors, DOB, and other regulatory bodies as required
- Lead regular foreman meetings, keeping the entire field team aligned on priorities, sequencing, and deadlines
Compensation
The anticipated base salary range for this position is listed below. In addition to a competitive base salary, you will be eligible to receive discretionary bonus incentives and a comprehensive benefits package.
Anticipated base salary range: $150,000+
Actual base salary within the anticipated range will be determined by several components including, but not limited to, the individual's experience, skills, qualifications, and market factors.
Qualifications
- 15+ years of experience in large-scale residential construction, including ground-up multifamily or mixed-use developments
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Construction Management preferred
- Demonstrated ability to manage major trades including MEP, structural, and foundations from inception through completion
- Experience obtaining TCO by coordinating across Electrical, Mechanical, Plumbing, Elevator, and Fire Alarm trades
- Minimum of 7 projects, with the last two in a principal role for at least 75% of the project duration
- OSHA 40, SST Supervisor card, and NYC Superintendent License required
