Overview

This is a hybrid role with the expectation that time working will regularly take place inside and outside of a company office.

 

The Managing Director of Capital Markets collaborates with Commercial Bank segment groups across the enterprise to identify and convert securities opportunities. Activities include partnering with internal client management teams to develop and implement marketing strategies, leading client discussions regarding First Citizens Capital Securities (FCCS) capital market capabilities, pitching clients to include FCCS in their securities executions, and providing market commentary via internal and external communication forums. Further responsibility includes assisting in the broader build-out of FCCS securities platform.


Responsibilities

  • Business Development - Regularly pitch FCB clients to provide overview of FCCS capabilities, advice on issuance, and commentary on market conditions. Navigate client discussions regarding FCCS' role in securities issuances.
  • Communications - Produce securities market commentary for FCB's monthly Capital Markets publication (internal & external distribution) and provide verbal commentary for FCB's bank-wide Capital Markets calls (internal). Conduct ongoing internal education and awareness sessions to FCB lender groups to broaden knowledge of FCCS capabilities. Stay abreast of capital markets trends, investors, and regulatory changes.
  • Managerial Functions - Establishes and monitors expectations to achieve company and team goals. Manages the performance, training, and evaluation of assigned staff. Maximizes team achievements by providing professional development.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and 10 years of experience in Capital Markets OR High School Diploma or GED and 14 years of experience in Capital Markets

 

Required Skills:

  • Risk Identification
  • Risk Mitigation

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics, or related field
  • Experience with Equity Capital Markets, Debt Capital Markets, or Asset Backed Securities
  • Ability and desire to build relationships with both internal and external partners

The base pay for this position is generally between $350,000 and $400,000. Actual starting base pay will be determined based on skills, experience, location, and other non-discriminatory factors permitted by law. For some roles, total compensation may also include variable incentives, bonuses, benefits, and/or other awards as outlined in the offer of employment.
