What You'll Be Doing
The Digital, Marketing & Communications, Business team is a strong support for the Private Wealth and CIBC Asset Management businesses, enabling CIBC’s core purpose: to help make our clients’ ambitions a reality by delivering services and products ensuring long-term growth.
As Executive Director, Communication & Content Strategy, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the direction of CIBC’s Wealth Management and Imperial Service businesses. You’ll lead a high-performing team responsible for developing and delivering innovative content and thought leadership that empowers our Advisors and clients to achieve their financial ambitions. Working closely with Private Wealth, CIBC Global Asset Management, and Investor Edge, you’ll design and implement strategies that drive deeper client engagement and acquisition. Your expertise will guide the integration of events, brand storytelling, and digital campaigns, ensuring our content resonates across multiple channels. You’ll collaborate with senior leaders, external partners, and industry peers to stay ahead of emerging trends and continually enhance our client experience.

How You'll Succeed
- Lead Content & Thought Leadership Initiatives – Drive the development and deployment of thematic content and thought leadership for Private Wealth and Asset Management, ensuring alignment with business strategy.
- Strategic Campaign Management – Oversee digital and social media campaigns that elevate CIBC’s external brand and engage target audiences, leveraging innovative channels and strategies.
- Integrate Brand and Client Stories – Incorporate events, brand narratives, and client stories into content strategies to build trust and deepen relationships.
- Foster Cross-Functional Partnerships – Collaborate with leaders across CIBC, including Brand, Digital Marketing, Asset Management, and Corporate Communications, to deliver integrated solutions.
- Coach and Develop Teams – Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of skilled professionals, cultivating a culture of high performance, creativity, and continuous improvement.
- Drive Data-Driven Insights – Guide analytics and research to identify growth opportunities, inform content strategies, and influence business decisions.
Who You Are
- You bring 15+ years of demonstrated experience in communications, marketing, financial services or related field and 5+ years of experience in thought leadership and content innovation and growth strategies.
- You’re experienced in campaign management. You bring deep expertise in media strategy, digital marketing, and integrated campaigns that drive engagement and growth.
- You have persuasive communication skills. You break down complex concepts into accessible, engaging stories, analogies, and frameworks.
- You contextualize trends. You have proven ability to recognize emerging patterns and help stakeholders understand the significance and impact.
- You conduct meaningful research. You execute in depth studies, gather relevant case studies, and validate arguments with clear, actionable evidence.
- You’re a collaborative leader. You excel at coaching teams, building trusted relationships, and partnering across departments to achieve shared goals.
- You’re client-focused. You understand the importance of delivering value through impactful content and exceptional client experiences.
- You’re analytical and data-driven. You leverage insights, analytics, and research to inform strategy and measure success.
