
Junior Creative Designer
Job Description
Summary
Our Creative Services team is looking for a Visual Designer to join our expanding Corporate Communications and Marketing department. Reporting to the VP, Art Director, Branding and Creative Services, you will be a key player in our Creative Services team responsible for the design/creative projects that support the growth of our global brand.
Our ideal candidate will have a deep understanding and working knowledge of the creative process, with the proven ability to generate high quality multi-channel assets quickly. You must be able to collaborate effectively with a talented team of professionals – across PR, digital marketing, video production, conferences/events and creative services -- to support Mizuho’s business and brand objectives.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with senior designers to conceptualize, design and produce print and digital designs that align with brand guidelines
Obtain approval of concept through mood boards and comps
Perform multiple design edits based on brand guidelines, art direction and client feedback
Create template-based materials
Source stock photography
Perform retouching, color correction, and collect for output
Create interactive PDF forms
Create storyboards for video and animation projects
Optimize image and video assets for digital and social platforms
Photograph internal events
Accurately apply design strategies to support and strengthen key messages
Required Skills
Bachelor’s degree in discipline-related field with 1–3 years of experience or demonstrated ability to meet the job requirements through a comparable number of years of applicable work experience
Strong design portfolio
Proven expertise in Adobe Creative Cloud - InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, and Acrobat. As well as creating assets in Microsoft Office – Outlook (OTF), PowerPoint etc.
Thorough knowledge of visual design principles, including graphic design, layout, typography, color and corporate identity
Experience in designing for advertising, collateral development, events, websites, presentations, recruiting, social media, templates, and environmental design
Experience in designing impactful creative for social media channels, primarily for X, LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram
High verbal and written communication skills; ability to articulate and present creative ideas and concepts convincingly
Strong project management, organizational and time-management skills
Understanding of print and digital production and workflow
Self-starter with the ability to work independently, yet still take creative direction
Ability to thrive in high-paced, team-oriented work environment under tight deadlines
Photography, Webflow, and Email Design experience a plus

The expected base salary ranges from $78,000.00. - $100,000.00. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications and licenses obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
