Water Safety Instructor - Seasonal (Parks)

Starting at $16.00 per hour

JOB SUMMARY:

Under general supervision, this position is responsible for learn-to-swim instruction in a group or one-on-one format. The Arlington Parks and Recreation Department will make every effort to provide training/certification opportunities for individuals with the desire to teach.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Must be able to prepare and monitor course and participation records and evaluate participant swimming abilities to ensure an appropriate level of instruction in an enjoyable and safe setting.
• Instructors must have strong customer service skills and be able to work effectively with children and their parents.

MINUMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be age 15 or older
• Certification as a Red Cross Water Safety Instructor (WSI).
• Must be able to complete certification requirements for CPR/First Aid. 

PRE-EMPLOYMENT SCREENING:
